Twilla Hoekstra, age 74, of Rock Rapids, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Fellowship Village in Inwood, IA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, with Pastor Steve Van Wyhe officiating.

A private burial will take place prior to the memorial service at the Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Visitation will take place during the lunch following the memorial service.

Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

Twilla Mae Hoekstra was born on April 27, 1951, in Sioux Center, IA, the daughter of Cornie and Ann (Koel) Jansen. She grew up in Carmel, IA and she attended school in Sioux Center, IA.

On July 7, 1995, she was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Hoekstra, and they made their home in Rock Rapids, IA. Twilla was a member of the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. She worked for Community Oil in Rock Valley for fifteen years and then worked for Farmers Lumber in Rock Valley for twenty-seven years. Twilla really enjoyed working with numbers and forming relationships with customers and contractors.

She liked shopping, going to flea markets, craft shows, tending to her flowers, and spending time at their lake home on East Lake in Okoboji, IA. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Charles “Chuck” Hoekstra of Rock Rapids, IA; two daughters, Erika (Scott) Van Kekerix of Inwood, IA, and Lindsey (Bob) Haub of Sioux Falls, SD; two step-daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Zacharias of Hartford, SD, and Christina (Sean) Jones of Omaha, NE; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Kendrick (Aubrey) Van Kekerix, and their children, Landry and Natalynn, Brayton (Juliana) Van Kekerix, and their daughter, Emersyn, Landyn Van Kekerix, Kavri Van Kekerix, Nick (Paige) Haub, Laura Haub, Lisa (Mike) Bull, and their children, Miles and Mia, Kylee Haub, Kayden Haub, and Kiera Haub; five step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren, Chase (Amanda) Zacharias, and their son, Benjamin, Colin Zacharias, and his son, Brantley, Steven Zacharias, Alison Zacharias, and Sean Jones Jr.; four siblings, Carol Kooima of Rock Valley, IA, Larry (Judy) Jansen of Casper, WY, Sharon (Duane) Boeve of Milford, IA, and Sandra Jansen of Eureka, IL; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornie and Ann Jansen; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Kooima.
