 Tristan Roetzel age 29 of Sibley, Iowa died Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. 

 A Private Funeral service will be held at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, with Reverend Verlyn Netten officiating. 

 Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ashton, IA. 

 Tristan David Roetzel was born on October 1, 1995, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of David and Laura (Frank) Roetzel. He grew up in the Sibley and Ashton area and later graduated from Sibley Ocheyedan High School in 2014. Tristan was proud of his time golfing with his teammates and winning the high school golf state championship in 2013. He attended college in Ohio and received a Degree in Fine Arts and Religious studies. At a young age he was able to travel to France and England with The People-to-People Program created by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was involved with the South Dakota Foundation and did a presentation on “Restoring Our Environment”. Tristan was also able to travel and see the Notre Dame Cathedral. 

 His hobbies and interests included reading in general and reading the Bible, he could quote many of the verses by heart, writing, (writing a book called “Hitler’s Book of Doom: the pen always comes before the sword”) golfing, and especially being with his family and friends. Tristan liked horses and dogs as well. 

 Tristan is survived by his mother, Laura Roetzel of Emmetsburg, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Marion Roetzel of Sheldon, Iowa; maternal grandfather, Doug Frank of Sibley, Iowa; uncle, Dan Roetzel; aunt, Lynne Newbury of Emmetsburg, Iowa; cousins and other extended family. 

 He was preceded in death by his dad, David Roetzel; paternal grandfather, Gerald “Jerry” Roetzel; and maternal grandmother, Lucy Ann Frank: and aunt, Nancy Roetzel.
