     Timothy DeSmet age 67 formerly of Larchwood, Iowa died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen, IA.

      The Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, IA, with Father Siby Punoose officiating.

     Timothy James DeSmet was born on November 28, 1956, in Valley Springs, SD, the son of Leonard and Mary Ann (Kloiber) DeSmet.  He was raised in Larchwood, IA.  Tim was a resident at Village Northwest in Sheldon, IA for 32 years.  He worked at Summit in Sheldon, sorting and bagging various items.

     Tim enjoyed roller skating and bicycling in his younger days.  He liked walking and riding in the car or the golf cart.  He loved chocolate, ice cream and root beer floats.

     Left to cherish his memory are his two siblings, Elaine DeCesare of Leland, NC, and Paul DeSmet of Mercersburg, PA; two nieces; two nephews; and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard, and Mary Ann DeSmet; and a brother, Mark DeSmet.
