Terry Moser, age 86, passed away peacefully in Rosemount, MN, on Friday, April 17, 2026.
There will be a private family inurnment at a later date.
Terry Glen Moser was born in Elgin, Illinois, to Harry “Bud” and Frances (Cunningham) Moser. In 1941, the family moved to a farm south of Alvord, Iowa. Terry attended Alvord Community School through all twelve grades and graduated in 1957. Following graduation, he worked for Mogler Farm Industries in Lester, Iowa.
Terry was united in marriage to Martha Hamann on June 20, 1959, in Inwood, Iowa. They made their home in Lester before moving to Massachusetts, where Terry completed his military service at Fort Devens during the Vietnam era. After returning to Lester, he worked at Crescent Electric in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
In 1966, Terry began his banking career as a teller at Lester State Bank. He later continued at Rock Rapids State Bank and went on to spend fifty years at Ashton State Bank, where he served in various roles, including insurance sales, president, and board member. Throughout his career, Terry was actively involved in his communities, serving on the Lester City Council, Rock Rapids Merrill Community Hospital board, Heartwood Heights board, Avera board, and the Osceola Economic Development Board.
Terry rarely missed a school event involving his children and cherished family time, especially trips to Okoboji and extended camping adventures. He had a passion for Oliver tractors, collecting toy models, and enjoying conversations with fellow enthusiasts who had farmed with Olivers. He took pride in maintaining his property using his 1941 Oliver tractor and participating in the Ashton Days parade.
Terry also enjoyed working with stained glass, creating and gifting many pieces to friends and family. One of his most special creations was a stained-glass replica of his Oliver tractor, based on a photograph of his own. After retirement, Terry and Martha spent their winters in San Diego.
In the spring of 2021, they moved to Rosemount, Minnesota, to be closer to family.
Terry is survived by his son, Todd Moser (Tammy Burnitt); daughters, Susan Wenker (Jeff) and Carolyn Moser (William Smith); sister, Cindy McCarty; brother, Paul (Rebecca) Moser; sisters-in-law, Velma (Gary) Rowles and Angela (Bill) Zimmerman; as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
