Terry Brian Jensen

Terry Jensen, age 73 of Sibley, Iowa, died Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, Iowa.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, with Reverend Tim Nappe officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Terry Brian Jensen was born on March 31, 1953, in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Vera (Munden) Jensen. Terry grew up in Ringsted, Iowa, but moved to Emmetsburg after losing his father when he was 8. He later graduated from Emmetsburg High School. Following his graduation, he attended college for two years.

On November 16, 1974, he was united in marriage to Beverly Jensen. They later divorced in 1999.

The couple made their home in Gruver, Iowa, Estherville, Iowa, and Sibley, Iowa. To this union, three children were born: Jennifer, Brian, and Kelsey. Terry worked at John Morrells in Estherville for a few years and spent the rest of his career at JBS as a USDA inspector. He was a member of the AFGE Union and served as President of the North Central Region for a time.

Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sporting events, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. He liked to travel, which he did a lot for his job. He collected movies and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Some special memories consisted of being involved in playing basketball or playing catch with his kids and seeing them get married. Terry spent a lot of time fighting for his fellow union workers. He was very passionate about his job and had many fond memories of his time helping others. Terry had an extraordinary sense of humor and often gave people he loved nicknames, such as Delmer for his grandson, Zach.

Terry is survived by his Ex-wife of twenty-five years, Beverly Jensen of Sibley, Iowa; three children, Jennifer Peterson of Cherokee, Iowa, Brian (Ally) Jensen of Sibley, Iowa, and Kelsey Jensen of Sibley, Iowa; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Carolyn (Howard) Medin of Caledonia, Minnesota; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Vera Jensen; two brothers, Gene Jensen and Gary Jensen; and a nephew, Ron Jensen.
