Sandra Kruger

Sandra Kruger, age 81, of Sibley, Iowa died Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at her home in Sibley.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later time.

Sandra Ann Kruger was born October 16, 1944, the daughter of Alhainen and Opal (Liffick) Davis in Rutland, Iowa. She attended Sheldon and Sibley Schools.

On November 10, 1961, Sandra was united in marriage to Edward “Jim” Kruger. To this union four children were born.

In the past, Sandy worked at Sibley Egg & Poultry, Sibley Nursing Home, Campbell Soup, and Chase Bag. She enjoyed reading, going to coffee shops, gardening, camping, and loved talking about her grandchildren. She was also an active member and board member of the United Church of Christ in Sibley.

Sandy was living in the Sheldon Christian Retirement home until she became too ill. She moved back to her home under hospice care where she passed peacefully on March 18, 2026.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their families, Phillip & Melinda of George, Iowa and their children: Ashley (Matt), Amber (Cody), Andrew (Daisy) Kelly of Arizona and his children: Thomas, (his son, Aiden), Kirsty, Colten (Brittany) Jamie & Jeff Detrick of Ankeny, Iowa and their children: Justin (Molly), Joey (great grandchild, Zamaya), Jacqueline (Alex) (great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aspen and Saylor) Kevin & Gina of Sibley, Iowa and their children, Trent (Nisha), Trevor.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alhainen and Opal Davis; husband, Jim Kruger; grandchild, Thomas Kruger; all of her siblings, Lawrence, Frank, Robert, Lymon, Harry, Rosie, Connie; several in-laws; and partner for many years, Norman Wheeler.
