Ronald Schol, age 92, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at his residence in Sibley.
A celebration of life service for him and his wife, Betty, who passed on August 10, 2025 will take place at a later date.
Ronald “Ronnie” L. Schol was born December 15, 1932, the son of Albert and Clara (Meyer) Schol in George, Iowa. He grew up in George with his four siblings and graduated from George high school.
On May 11, 1957, Ronnie was united in marriage to Betty Bos at Lyon County Presbyterian Church in rural George, Iowa. Together they lived in George and Ashton before moving to Sibley.
Ronald joined the United States Navy on January 10, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the San Diego, California Naval Base on January 10, 1956.
Ronnie worked as an auto body mechanic in George, then worked for the Osceola County Highway Department. He was a member of the hospital auxiliary and a 49-year member of the Sibley American Legion Post 324. He enjoyed baseball, restoring cars, watching movies and races, and taking trips with his cousins. A couple of special moments in Ronnie’s life were a surprise 40th wedding anniversary party, and a trip to Washington D.C. with the Honor Flight. He loved afternoon cribbage games with his coffee buddies and visiting with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are a special niece and nephew, Dyana Beek of Madrid, IA and Doyle Bos of Sibley, IA; along with many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Clara; wife, Betty; brother, Henry (Hank) Schol; sisters, Katherine Renken, Evelyn Beechler, and Lillian Budgett.
