Roger Klaassen, age 75 of Little Rock, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at UC Health Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 27th at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, with Pastor Bryan Anderson and Pastor Steve Meester officiating.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, Iowa.
Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, Iowa.
Roger Ray Klaassen was born July 7, 1950, to Kenneth and Hilda (VanWesten) Klaassen in Sibley, IA. Roger was raised on a farm east of Rock Rapids, IA. He attended Midland #5 Country School until the 5th Grade and then joined the Central Lyon Community School, where he graduated high school in 1968. Roger attended Universal Technical Institute in Omaha, NE, graduating with a degree in Automobile Mechanics and Repair in 1970. Roger served in the National Guard from 1970-1976. Roger married Judy Meester on June 7, 1974. They moved to a farm west of Little Rock, IA where he farmed and raised pigs. He worked for the Chevy garage in George, IA, from 1970-1980. He owned and operated Roger’s Body Shop in George, IA, from 1980-1984 and then proceeded to work part-time for Rich’s Body Shop and Warntjes Paint and Body until he retired.
He was a kind-natured man who deeply loved his family, never missing a birthday party, graduation, concert, or sporting event. Family was the center of his life, and he especially loved his grandchildren, who brought him great joy and happiness. He treasured time spent with them and took pride in watching them grow. He had a lifelong passion for cars that included re-building cars, attending car shows, and various races. Alongside his wife, Judy, he enjoyed traveling and sharing adventures, making memories that will be cherished forever. The life they built together was a source of great pride.
His kind spirit, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and love for family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Klaassen of Little Rock, IA; two sons, Wade (Alicia) Klaassen of Hartford, SD, and Ryan (Jen) Klaassen of Sioux Falls, SD; and one daughter, Angela (Jason) Klimes of Harrisburg, SD. Six Grandchildren: William Klaassen, Wyatt Klaassen, Maclen Klaassen, Jude Klaassen, Thea Klimes, and Liam Klimes. Sister and brothers: Karen Peterson, Daryl (Glenna) Klaassen, Doug (Deb) Klaassen; Brother-in-law Harold Meester, and other extended family members, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two daughters: Beth Ann Klaassen and Lisa Lynn Klaassen; parents: Kenneth and Hilda Klaassen; parents-in-law: Joe and Ruth Meester; and sister-in-law Linda Meester.
