Roberta "Bobbi" Truckenmiller, age 86, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.
There will be no services.
Roberta Jean (Brody) Truckenmiller was born on July 28, 1939, to Gordon and Clara Brody. She grew up in Sibley, Iowa, and graduated from Sibley High School. On March 8, 1957, she married Dennis Ray Truckenmiller. They were married on the family farm, where they made their home together for 68 years. Bobbi passed away peacefully at her home on September 22nd, 2025. A private interment service will be held at a later date.
Bobbi and Dennis had four daughters and one son, and from their marriage grew a family of 13 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. The Truckenmiller home quickly became the heart of the family. Bobbi was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was truly a kid magnet. Impromptu family gatherings were a common occurrence, especially on Saturday mornings when she always served waffles.
Bobbi was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women for a number of years. She was an incredible seamstress, teaching her girls to sew and making 4-H projects together.
Dennis and Bobbi created an abundance of fond memories for their grandchildren, including several trips to Disney World, the Twin Cities, and the Omaha Zoo, where parents were not allowed. When she wasn’t caring for children, she loved to travel. Bobbi and Dennis shared a passion for adventure and spent much of their time together on the sea. They traveled the world on more than 68 cruises, spending 1,202 days at sea, exploring destinations from the southern tip of Antarctica to the far north. She also loved trips to the casino for “therapy” as Dennis called it. She was known for being lucky, coming out ahead most times, while he read books in the car.
Bobbi played a vital role in the family business, Truckenmiller Pallet and Grain. In fact, she built the very first pallets herself before Dennis left his job to run the company full-time. From its founding in 1975 to 2023, Bobbi managed the office work, contributing behind the scenes to help the business grow and thrive.
Bobbi was known for her kindness, never saying a bad word about anyone. She was dear to all who knew her and loved by all who had the blessing of calling her family. She was, and always will be, the world’s best grandma.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Gordon Brody, her daughter, Cindy Sue Truckenmiller, sister Joycelyn (Leonard) Deaver, brother Gerald, brother Donald (Maxine) Brody, and sister Darlene (Ray) Alexander.
Those left to cherish Bobbi’s memory are her husband Dennis, daughters Robin Carlson, Gayle Siebenbruner, Laura (Kevin) Gradert, and son Mike (Susan) Truckenmiller. 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, step-mother-in-law, Kathy Truckenmiller, and brother-in-laws Mat (Tanya) Truckenmiller and Tom (Jeanie) Truckenmiller, along with several nieces and nephews.
