Netty Woelber was born February 11, 1926 in a farmhouse near Hull, IA to Herman Diedrich and Margaret Sophie Alma (Hagenah) Schuett. She attended Garfield Country School through the 8th grade and then graduated from the Hull High School. As a young person Netty helped folks in the area clean. She also worked for Katie and Alfred Tiedemann with their young family. On September 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Woelber.  The couple farmed most of their lives.  They began farming near Boyden before moving to a farm near Hull and finally a farm near George.  They moved into George in 1993.  Netty worked alongside her husband on the farm for many years as they built their lives and raised their family. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hull. She loved her church and church family very much. She was baptized into the faith on March 3, 1926 and confirmed on April 21, 1940. Netty loved to crochet and embroider. Her family will cherish the many blankets and other things she made for them. She enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers. She loved to watch the Minnesota Twins on TV and was sad that there was no 2020 baseball season. One of her last outings from the Good Samaritan Home was going to Alex and Teyha wedding, afterward she went to the Grand Falls Casino for the reception. She thought that was quite something. This past Thursday, June 4th, Netty passed away at the Good Samaritan Home of George at the age of 94. She will be greatly missed.
