Marvella Krahling, age 82 of George, IA, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, under hospice care at the Sheldon Senior Care Center in Sheldon, IA.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA, with Pastor Kevin Lardy officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, IA.

Marvella Krahling was born on May 11, 1943, in George, Iowa, to Henry and Alice (Krull) Jansen. She attended George High School and graduated in 1961. She was united in marriage to Dennis Krahling on June 30, 1961. They lived on the Sohl century farm near Matlock, Iowa, where they raised livestock and farmed for over 50 years.

In November 2011, Marvella and Dennis moved to George, Iowa. Marvella and Dennis were active members of the Matlock Reformed Church, where Marvella was the organist until it closed in 1987, and then they became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, where she was one of the church secretaries. Most recently, Marvella attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in George.

Marvella was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, babysitting them.

Marvella is survived by her children, Stephanie Kay Ochsendorf of Boyden, Iowa, Kandyce Ann Guse of Sheldon, Iowa; five grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan) Bolkema of Hull, Iowa, Eric (Becky) Ochsendorf of Hull, Iowa, Meranda Miller (friend, Dee Web) of Sheldon, Iowa, Jacob (Natashia) Guse of Matlock, Iowa, Elizabeth Guse (friend, Jake Van Engen) of George, Iowa; nine great grandchildren; brother, Arnold Jansen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Paula (John) Maxwell of Ashton, Iowa; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Krahling; parents, Henry and Alice Jansen; sister, Noreen Jansen; father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Iva Krahling; son-in-law, Kim Ochsendorf; son-in-law, Loren Guse; and sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Don Johannes.
