Marla Herrmann age 74, of Sibley, Iowa passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Family will be having a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Sibley, with Pastor Ryan Austin officiating.

Marla Jean Herrmann was born on September 10, 1950, in Canton, South Dakota, the daughter of David Samuel and Dorothy Leona (McClung) Wright. She grew up in Canton.

On September 28, 1966, she was united in marriage to George Herrmann in Canton, South Dakota. The couple made their home there for a time, then moved to Rock Rapids and lived there from 1985 to 2005, and then Sibley, Iowa, living there from 2005 to 2025.

Marla was a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed embroidery, reading her Bible, collecting dolls, music boxes, cookbooks, and especially spending time with family and friends.

She was proud of being Baptized, loved taking trips to the Black Hills and family gatherings. She had a mild temperament, loved her family and would do anything to help others. Marla was a cancer survivor. She was best friends with her husband, and they did everything together.

Marla is survived by her six children, Tasha (Doyle) Bos of Sibley, Iowa, Shondra (Ryan) Rozeboom of Sibley, Iowa, Aaron Herrmann of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sheila (Shannon) Nagel of Doon, Iowa, Londa Cardillo of Sibley, Iowa, and Timothy (Mindy) Herrmann of Sibley, Iowa; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; four brothers, Les Wright, Dave Wright, Bill Wright, and Jim Wright; five in-laws, Cork Minor, Joyce Miles, Janet Miles, Rose Ripka, and Donald Herrmann; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Dorothy Wright; husband, George Herrmann; grandson, Isaac Bos, great grandson, Giovanni Aguilar, brother, Bruce Wright, and sister, Mary Susan Wright.
