Mark Dagel was the 11th child born to Richard and Margaret (Brandt) Dagel in Sibley Iowa on November 22,1957. He grew up on the family farm near Sibley Iowa and continued to raise a family there after his marriage to Brenda Kaye (Krikke) Dagel on February 14th, 1977. They later moved to Ocheyedan Iowa. Growing up Mark was a hardworking man. He loved doing chores and being outside, and that grew into a great work ethic which he carried into his construction company, Dagel Construction. He was always planning a project, lending a hand, and striving to please his customers and family. Mark was a mentor and father figure to many youth and employees, he loved and cared deeply for them. He served his church in several ways, as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, elder, and trustee. People saw him as a good father to his 4 sons, a faithful husband, and a man of God. He enjoyed time with family and commented often on how blessed they were as a family. Mark was very proud of all of them. After a short battle with cancer, God took him to His heavenly home.
Left to cherish the memories are his wife Brenda, brothers Gary and Mike, sisters Donna and Peg, sons Jeremiah (Mary), Joshua (Jessica), Jesse, and Jacob (Jazmine), and their 16 Grandchildren, Hannah, James, Rachel, Josiah, and Mariah, Dawson, Ashlynn, Pierson, Zion, Emilynn, Gabrion, Truston, Brynn Adine, Larkynn, Oaklon and Chosynn, and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Denny, Harold, Jack, Don, John, and sister Pat Mahlman.
