Marjorie Klein

Marjorie Klein, age 93, of Ashton, Iowa, died suddenly on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, with Father Siby Punnoose as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Ashton, Iowa.

Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley, Iowa.

Marjorie Mae Von Arb was born on November 7, 1932, in Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Barbara (Noethe) Von Arb. She grew up in Alton, attended St. Mary’s Academy, and later graduated from Alton High School.

On November 18, 1953, Marjorie was united in marriage to Leo Klein at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. The couple then moved to Ashton, where they lived all their married life. Marjorie worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Ashton for many years and also worked at the Cedar Cabin in the kitchen.

Marjorie was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, where she was active as a Catholic Daughter and served as a prior Grand Regent. She always had a word-find puzzle she was working on in her lap. She was also a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She loved watching women’s college basketball, especially her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes as well as the Indiana Fever Pro women’s basketball team. She also enjoyed Hallmark TV shows and her weekly Tuesday coffee clutch. She will be greatly missed.

Marjorie is survived by her two children, Lizzy “Beth” Williams of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and Bruce Klein of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nine siblings, Patricia Jungers, Paul Von Arb Jr., Carolyn (Vern) Langenfeld, Arleen (Leon) Schoo, Beverly Delperdang, Robert (Glenda) Von Arb, Clarissa Doggett, Ione Naber, and Judy (Frank) Mousel; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Von Arb and Georgia Klein; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
