Margarett Sylvia Travaille

Margarett Sylvia Travaille, age 3 of Sibley, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.

A Private Funeral Service for the family will be held, and the family will be planning a Celebration of Life Service for the public on Margarett’s birthday on March 10, 2026. The time and place will be announced as that date gets closer.

Family is asking for memorials in place of flowers. Memorials will be used to purchase a headstone for Margarett’s grave.  There will be accounts at the Sibley State Bank and United Community Bank in Ocheyedan if you would like to donate there.

Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley, Iowa.

Margarett Sylvia Travaille was born on March 10, 2022 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Her healing home was in Sibley, Iowa. Margarett lived with her loving parents Chad and Megan, as well as her two sweet sisters, Lawrynn (6) and Gracie (1 1/2).

The minute Margarett was born, she brought so much spunk and happiness into our lives. Margarett was a little girl who proclaimed God’s love and grace in the midst of the trials. She loved so incredibly hard and made sure to keep everyone smiling with the infectious smile and joy she was sure to bring to all.

Margarett Sylvia loved her Barbies, walking her favorite horse June Bug, coloring, dancing, movie nights with the entire family, and running and playing outside with her sisters.

Margarett’s greatest accomplishment in her 3 years of life was bringing communities together to grow closer to one another with sharing the love of God she had. She accomplished this in the midst of her year long fight with cancer. Margarett underwent many treatments, surgeries, and obstacles throughout her journey while many of us prayed for an earthly miracle. Her miracle was granted on December 11, 2025 when she was welcomed to her Heavenly home.

She will be deeply missed with a little light that will shine on forever. Rest easy, sweet girl.

Margarett is survived by her parents, Chad and Megan; her siblings Lawrynn and Gracie, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many cousins and extended family members and friends.

Margarett was preceded in death by her great grandparents; Sylvia Rolfes, Clarence Hellinga, Karen Hellinga, Dorothy Travaille, Gerrit Travaille, and Bernard (Bob) Travaille; her Aunt Sally Forrester and cousin Peyton Block.
