Louise Ann Kuhl age 78 of Sibley, IA, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD died on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA.

Public visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30th, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Timothy Nappe officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA.

Louise Ann Kuhl was born October 27, 1947, in Adrian, MN, the daughter of John and Margaret (Heikes) Huisman. She lived on a family farm for the first several years before moving with family to Wilmont, MN. She attended Adrian Public school until the 8th grade and graduated from Worthington High School in 1965.

Following school she began working at Credit Records in Worthington. On October 26, 1968, Louise was united in marriage to Stanley Leo Kuhl at Wilmont, MN. Shortly after they were married Stan served his country in the U.S. Marine corp. After his return, Louise and Stan lived in Reading and Wilmont from 1971 to 1973. Then from 1973 until 2015 in Worthington, MN. They were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Barb.

Louise worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years at Client Community Services in Worthington. After retirement Louise and Stan moved to Sioux Falls, SD. In her retirement years, Louise volunteered as a waiting room volunteer at Sanford Hospital. Louise loved embroidering, baking, flowers and shopping for others.

Louise's family was very important to her. She especially enjoyed Sunday afternoon tea with her mother and siblings, attending concerts with Stan, shopping and coffee with Barb, and having picnics in the park with Jacob, Leah and Carley.

On February 16, 2025, Louise’s husband of 56 years, Stanley died. Soon after, Louise entered the Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA, where she remained until her death this past Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Barb Seivert of Sibley, IA; three grandchildren, Jacob (Katy Urbain) Seivert of West Des Moines, IA; Leah (Scott)Tanis of Sioux Falls, SD and Carley (Jaden) Kleinhesselink of Sheldon, IA; one great granddaughter, Noëlle Seivert; one great grandson, Reese Kleinhesselink; four siblings, Grace Van Brunt of Mesa, AZ, Donald Huisman of Des Moines, IA, Gloria (Paul) Von Holtum of Sioux Falls, SD and Roger (Linda) Huisman of Slayton, MN; two sisters-in-law, Letty Huisman of St. Michaels, MN and Vonnie Huisman of Sioux Falls, SD; Stanley’s siblings, Connie (Don) Dolan of Hastings MN; Patty (Jerry) Honch of Pittsford NY; Dan (Nancy) Kuhl of Lakeville MN; Gary Kuhl (close friend, Robert Wittstock) of San Francisco CA; Bob (Mira) Kuhl of Napa CA; Charlotte Molosky of Burlingame CA; Charlene Kuhl of Worthington MN: Rich Kuhl of Wilmont MN; Mary(Scott) Anderson of Hutchinson MN and John(Judy) Kuhl of Buffalo MN, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Kuhl; son-in-law, Brian Seivert; husband, Stanley Kuhl; parents-in-law, Lester and Rose Kuhl; brothers, Marv and Peter Huisman; brothers-in-law, Darwin Van Brunt and sister-in-law, Karon Huisman.
