Linda Marie Rust

ROCK RAPIDS, IA

Linda M. Rust age 66, of Rock Rapids passed away Friday evening, September 27, 2024 at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2nd at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 3rd also at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids with Fr. Sunny Dominic officiating.

There will be a Graveside Service at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Luverne, MN at 2:00 PM also on Thursday with Monsignor Gerald Kosse, officiating.

Linda Marie Rust was born on June 3, 1958 in Luverne, MN to parents Arnie and Shirley (Marthaler) Mollberg. She grew up and attended school in Luverne where she was a high school graduate. After high school Linda began and completed a two-year course of study at the Worthington Community College.

She was united in marriage to Jon Rust at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Luverne, MN on July 24, 1981. The couple lived in Rapid City, SD, Mitchell, SD, Thomasville, GA, Estherville, IA and eventually Rock Rapids in March of 1988. Linda worked as a bank teller, and eventually a clerk at Dollar General and Todd’s Station where she made many lasting friendships.

 Linda enjoyed first and foremost her grandkids and their activities. She really liked and faithfully followed C L- GLR Football, Central Lyon wrestling, and all the school activities. Linda loved reading, especially outdoors. Nothing was better than a relaxing read in the backyard.

 She is survived by her husband of 43 years Jon; Children Andy (Amanda) Rust; Theresa Rust; Alex (Lexi) Rust; Grandchildren Cael, Beckett, Luna, Letten, River & Jesse; Siblings Diane Gonnerman, David Mollberg & Mary McDowell; brother-in-law Jeff McClure; sister-in-law Carol Mollberg; mothers-in-law Connie DeVries and Gloria Rust.

 Preceding Linda in death were her parents, Arnie & Shirley Mollberg, her sister Barb McClure and a brother Tom Mollberg and father-in-law Albert (Bud) Rust.
