Len Arends, age 64 of Little Rock, IA, died Friday, June 6, 2025, at his home in Little Rock, surrounded by his family.
A Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the First Baptist Church rural George, IA.
A Funeral will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, June16, 2025 also at the First Baptist Church of George.
Len Arends was born in Rock Rapids, IA. on September 10, 1960 to parents Henry and Elizabeth (Kruse) Arends. He grew up in the Little Rock area and was a 1978 graduate of Little Rock High School. On April 7, 1990 Len was united in marriage to Tonya Hargis at the Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. Len worked at Noteboom John Deere in Sibley, Demco in Boyden and was a partner in the Little Rock Tank Rental with his brother Layton and was involved in a Texaco with his Dad and Layton.
Mr. Arends loved Trucking and being a Trucker and later became the owner/operator of Len Arends Express.
When he wasn’t trucking Len loved doing anything with his family and friends and especially his grandkids including going to the races, Go-Cart Racing with Barry, watching westerns, and going to sales and auctions. Some special memories are the Black Hills trip and racing every weekend back in the day.
Len is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tonya Arends of Little Rock; his father Henry of Ellsworth, MN; three children Barry (Kristen McDonald) Arends of Little Rock, Anton Alsip of Little Rock and Tamara (Dustin DeBoer) also of Little Rock, IA; six grandkids Dominick Arends, Damien Arends, Hunter Kruger, Evan Kruger, Danika DeBoer and Zoe Alsip; three siblings Lon (Linda) Arends, Layton (Dawn) Arends, and Lana (Bruce) Hinrichs.
Preceding Len in death was his mother, Elizabeth.
The family asks that the truckers attending the funeral to attend in their tractors. (No trailers please).
There will be a truckers funeral procession to the cemetery in Little Rock with Len’s truck leading the way.
