Kelvin Thomas Vander Veen

Kelvin Vander Veen, age 30 of Sibley, Iowa, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Arrangements are pending with the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

Kelvin Thomas Vander Veen was born on November 2, 1995, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Curt and Beth (Henning) Vander Veen. Kelvin graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in 2014. He later graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Kelvin was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sibley. He enjoyed golfing and was very knowledgeable about muscle cars. “The Sopranos” was his favorite show. He would finish the series and then start right over with the first season and watch it again. Kelvin also liked 80’s rock music.

Kelvin is survived by his parents, Curt and Beth Vander Veen of Ocheyedan, IA; two siblings, Mitchell (Miranda), and children, Kolton and Kade, all of Urbandale, IA, and Madison (Josh) of Ocheyedan, IA; maternal grandmother, Rosie Henning of Adrian, MN; paternal grandmother, Margaret Vander Veen of Sibley, IA; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Verne Henning, and paternal grandfather, Klaas Vander Veen.
