Keith Schroeder, age 76 of rural Rock Rapids, IA died Friday, March 12, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
Private funeral service will be Tuesday, March 16th at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Jon Pea officiating. A Live Stream link will be available on our website.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery of George, IA.
Public visitation will be Monday, March 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Family will not be present.
Keith Harm Schroeder was born January 2, 1945 to Harm and Estella (Bruinsma) Schroeder in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He grew up in Rock Rapids and graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1963.
On June 6, 1964 Keith was united in marriage to Beverly Behr at the State Line Presbyterian Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa and made their home in Edna where they raised three children. Beverly passed away on December 23, 1993.
Keith had various employment throughout his life. He worked at Moorman’s, Good Samaritan in George, Sudenga Industries, Beyenhoff, IBP, Modern Woodmen, and lastly Boyden Natural Beauty Growers.
He was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, Iowa where he was a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee. He enjoyed coin collecting, playing cards, gun collecting, antiques, estate auctions, horticulture, 4-wheelers, and being a part of the Honda Goldwing motorcycle club. Most of all, Keith enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Brian (Ruth) Schroeder of Cleveland, WI, Todd (Randy Ray) Schroeder of Huntington Beach, CA, Melanie (Charlie) Peterson of Rogers, MN; grandchildren, Brian “BJ” (Amanda) Schroeder of Edwards Air Force Base, CA, Matt (Katilynn) Schroeder of Sheboygan Falls, WI and Olivia Peterson of Rogers, MN; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Kameryn, Tanner, Blake, Logan, and Jacob; sisters, Velma Schwaderer of South Sioux City, NE and Lila Wilke of Bonita Springs, FL; along with extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harm and Estella; wife of 29 years, Beverly; and infant son, Jeffery.
