     Keith Koth, age 91, of George, IA died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at his home in George, IA.

     The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in rural George, IA, with Reverend Jesse Sternke officiating.

     Burial will follow at the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery of George, IA, with military honors presented by the Jack Sauter American Legion Post 404 of George.

     Visitation will be Thursday, December 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

     Keith Kermit Koth was born on October 26, 1931, in Parkston, SD, the son of Nathaniel and Anna (Schafer) Koth.  He grew up in George, Iowa, and later graduated from George High School.  Keith later enlisted in the U.S. Marines serving from January 22, 1952, to January 13, 1954.  He was a staff sergeant and was stationed in Hawaii and Japan.

     On June 17, 1955, Keith married Norma Jean Sudenga at the Central Baptist Church in George, IA.  To this union, two sons were born, James and Jeffery.  The couple lived in several places throughout their married life, such as Aurora, CO, Minneapolis, MN, Omaha, NE, Sibley, IA, and George, IA.  While living in Aurora, CO, Keith worked for Gehl Brothers Manufacturing and while living in Sibley, Lew Implement.  Following retirement, he and his wife wintered in Texas and enjoyed being out of the cold midwest.

     He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir.  He was also a member of the Jack Sauter American Legion Post 404 of George, IA.

     Keith is survived by his two sons, Jim Koth of Port Orange, FL and Jeff Koth of George, IA; four grandchildren, Aimee Koth of Omaha, NE, Katie Smith also of Omaha, Kevin Koth of Houston, TX, and MacKenzie Koth of Waterloo, IA; four great-grandchildren, Miles Martinez, Mason Twomey, Ryder Smith, and Paisley Smith; one brother, Harlow Koth of Des Moines, IA; and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel, and Anna Koth; wife, Norma Jean Koth; and four brothers, Bill, Ivan, Curtis, and Clinton Koth.
