Kathryn Knobloch, age 70 of Sioux Falls, SD died Wednesday, October 6, 2021 after a 20-month journey with pancreatic cancer at her residence in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester, IA.
Visitation will be Friday, October 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester with the family present.
In lieu of flowers, the family request's memorial contributions be made to the Apostolic Christian Church cemetery, Children's Inn of Sioux Falls or Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA.
Kathy was born July 2, 1951, in Rock Rapids, IA to Nathan "Bud" and Irene (Merkel) Knobloch. Kathy grew up living with her parents and five siblings on their family farm in rural Alvord, IA, enjoying the outdoors. She attended the Logan #6 country school for kindergarten and first grade. She completed her schooling at West Lyon, graduating from West Lyon High in 1969. Kathy worked as a key puncher at Data Inc. then secretary at American Freight before joining Dakota Riggers & Tool Supply in 1992 where she remained employed until death.
Family was important to Kathy. She appreciated times spent with her siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents during her younger years. Traveling to West Bend, IA, and Indiana to visit relatives was a highlight growing up. She treasured her nieces and nephews and they enjoyed spending time with her. Kathy took pleasure in others and developed many close friendships with colleagues from work and other acquaintances.
Kathy attended the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA. In her final days, Kathy received comfort by turning to the Lord in repentance.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Connie Knobloch.
She is survived by four brothers, Kelvin (Marion) Knobloch of Niantic, IL, Thomas (Jeri) Knobloch of Madison, KS, Levi Knobloch of Redwood Falls, MN, and Denis (Jackie) Knobloch of Weslaco, TX; and other extended family. She will be remembered by her aunt and uncle, cousins, other family, and many close friends.
