Faye Grave age 68 of George, Iowa died Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley, Iowa.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Iowa, with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial will take place in the spring in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, IA.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, IA.
Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA.
Faye Elinor Grave was born on June 9, 1954, in Sibley, IA,the daughter of Russell and Joyce (Houghton) Wittern. She grew up in Little Rock, IA, and later graduated from Little Rock High School. After graduating she went on and got her nursing degree.
On August 25, 1973, she was united in marriage to Greg Grave at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. The couple lived in Ames, IA for a year, where Faye worked at Mary Greeley Hospital, then a brief stay in Wilton, IA, before moving back home to Sibley area, where they live on a farm from 1975 to the present.
Faye started working as a nurse for the Sibley Hospital in 1974, and later retired after 40 years.
Faye was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was an active member of the women’s circle.
She loved sewing and made several things including her sister’s wedding dress. She knitted and made many cross-stitch items. Faye loved reading mainly Amish books. She also liked to garden, kayak, and go to dances with her husband Greg. She enjoyed traveling and having coffee with friends. She especially loved watching her kids school activities.
Faye is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Greg Grave; son, Neil; and daughter, Summer; four grandchildren; two siblings, Bruce, and Barbara Wittern; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell, and Joyce Wittern.
