Eleanor Hazel (Klaassen) Wibben was born January 27, 1929, at her home north of George, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Amy (Boom) Klaassen. She attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1947. After graduating she worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Sibley, IA, the Bell Telephone Company in Minneapolis, MN and then Sioux Falls, SD until 1959.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Arnold Wibben on June 24, 1959, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, Iowa where the bride’s uncle Rev. Elmer Boom presided over the ceremony. They lived and farmed northwest of George until moving into town in 1993.

She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George where she served on the R.W. and Circle Committees.  She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in George.

After Arnold’s passing Eleanor lived at Fieldcrest and most recently Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.

We will miss our time with grandma; enjoying her homecooked meals to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions. We appreciated her strong Christian faith, how much she enjoyed time at home with family and friends and worshiping with their Ebenezer Church family. We are thankful she is at peace, home with our Lord.

Left to cherish her memory is one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Marla of Sheldon, IA; three grandchildren, Carter (fiancée Arianna Frerk), Evan, and Ella; one sister-in-law, Berdeen Ackerman of Sibley, IA; also, many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Arnold; beloved son, Timothy; her parents; one sister, Virginia Rosenboom; and one brother, Irvin Klaassen.
