Donna Marie Voss was born on October 3, 1943 on a farm near Ashton, IA to parents Ted and Clara (Johannes) Voss. She was a very happy girl, always helping her mother. Donna enjoyed playing the piano. She also loved to go fishing at the drop of a hat or play cards or softball with her brothers and she wasn’t just filling a spot she could hold her own with the boys.
Donna graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1962, then worked at ALF’s manufacturing in Sheldon, IA as a seamstress for years. Later, Donna worked at the ECO plant in Sibley before her retirement.
She really enjoyed playing the organ for Holy Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and did so for forty years and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
In her final days Donna lived at the Edgewood Assisted Living Home in Sioux Falls, SD. She suffered with intense back pain. Jesus rescued her, enough pain, enough suffering. It was time for her to come home.
Well done my good and faithful servant. The family and especially her brother Ted will always think of Donna when he hears this verse of the Beatitudes…
“Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8.
Donna is survived by three brothers, Henry, Ted and James (Tracy); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by three sisters Mary Jean (Dale) Krogman, Rita (Ed) Lange, and Margie (Burdette) Caster and a host of other relatives.
