Dolores Jean (Stubbe) Fink was born July 2, 1928 in Luverne, MN, the eldest daughter of Hilko and Elske (Arends) Stubbe.
Most of her youth was spent in Rock Rapids, IA, where she graduated from Wilson High School in 1945 at the age of 16. She heard the Gospel message as a very young teenager and accepted it in her life. This message remained precious to her for the remainder of her life.
Dolores worked during high school as a telephone switch board operator. She attended a two-year course for business concentration at Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha, NE.
On June 20, 1951, Dolores married Eldon L. Fink in Worthington, MN. After their marriage, the couple farmed and lived three miles east of Little Rock, IA, until moving to Sibley in March 1968. On July 5th, 1984, Eldon died at the age of 52 years.
Dolores' work life included bookkeeping for multiple businesses, including Nagel Trucking. On March 25, 1963, she was asked to temporarily fill a position with the City of Sibley clerk’s office. Shortly after being hired permanently, she was appointed deputy city clerk. In March 1968 she was appointed city clerk and held that position until retirement in July 1990, serving 27 years with the City of Sibley.
In 2000, she was elected to a four-year term on the council for the City of Sibley, continuing her service to the city. She also volunteered on multiple committees in service for the city after retirement and many years later.
She was a former member of the Osceola Community Hospital Auxiliary and Municipal Finance Officers Association.
During retirement she was known as a collector of dolls, plates and Beanie Babies. She spent countless hours working on her many quilting projects, many of which have been passed down to her children, grandchildren friends and relatives.
Dolores is survived by her three children, Teri Lynn (Michael) Kenowski of Owatonna, MN, Randall D (Joan) Fink of Sioux Falls, SD and Lorilee K Fink of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Eric Fink (Paige Hagen) of Minneapolis, MN, Marta (Mitch) Harvey of Sioux Falls, SD, Jackson Fink of Sioux Falls, SD and Kianna Cobb of Minneapolis, MN; two great grandsons, Maximus and Maverick Harvey; and sister-in-law, Sally Stubbe of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
