Deborah “Deb” Anderson, age 74, of Rock Rapids, IA died Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 25th, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Duane Miesner officiating.

A private family burial will be prior to the service at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Deborah Lee Hofstra was born on December 12, 1951, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Richard and Anna (Dirks) Hofstra. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Rock Rapids, where her faith journey began. Deb grew up in the Rock Rapids area and graduated from Central Lyon High School with the Class of 1969.

On October 10, 1992, Deb was united in marriage to Steve Anderson in Redlands, California, where they lived until 2003, when they returned to Rock Rapids.

Deb enjoyed working in her flower gardens and shared a special bond with their beloved pets throughout the years. Their family included Suzie, a cherished cat, and their faithful dogs- Toby, Dixie, and Itzy, each of whom brought joy and comfort to their lives.

Deb will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Steve Anderson; her sister, Jan Iwen of Rock Rapids; sister-in-law, Cindy Hofstra of Sheldon, Iowa; sister-in-law, Becky (Steve) Boone of Scottsdale, Az.; and sister-in-law, Carla Anderson of Rock Valley, Iowa.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Randy Hofstra, Rob (Cyndi) Hofstra, Ryan (Samantha) Hofstra, Jodi Gross (Justin Arends), Kim (Paul) Helgerson, Blake Anderson, Ted (Ann) Boone, Tami Christian, Beighley Boone, Daryl Boone, and Draven Boone. And various great- nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger Hofstra; parents-in-law, Bob and Billie Anderson; brothers-in-law, Barry Iwen and Mike Anderson; nephews, Rusty Hofstra and Chad Anderson; and many other relatives and friends.
