Colleen A. Wall, age 81 of Waterloo, Iowa passed away April 13, 2026.  

A memorial service will take place Saturday, June 6, 2026 at The Rock Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa with Pastor Joel Higgins, officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, in Rock Rapids.

Visitation will be Friday, June 5th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Colleen A. Hamann was born February 25, 1945 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Her parents were Orval and Macyl Hamann. Colleen was baptized in the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell and grew up on a nearby farm. She attended grade school in Sulfur Springs and then graduated from the Newell-Providence Community School in 1963. Colleen worked as a telephone operator for nearly 10 years in Storm Lake, Iowa; Denver, Colorado; and Ames, Iowa. Colleen was united in marriage to Thomas Wall on July 31, 1971. They lived in Ames one year and then moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa where they lived for the next 45 years. They raised their two children, Mark and Carrie, in Rock Rapids and attended the United Methodist Church where Colleen was a member. Colleen was active in the church, went through the Stephens Ministry training, and was a member of a ladies group known as the MsFits. Colleen was well known for her baking skills and her love of Christmas decorations. After being diagnosed with dementia, the family moved to Waterloo in 2017, and Colleen became a resident of the Friendship Village care facility. On April 13, 2026, Colleen passed away at the care facility at the age of 81.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Thomas; a son, Mark Wall; a daughter, Carrie Wall; a son-in-law, Marty Makowski; grandsons Mitchell Roe and Thomas Wall; a granddaughter, Emma McNamee (Isaiah McNamee); a great granddaughter, Scottie McNamee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Beverly Jorgensen; a brother-in-law, Bob Jorgensen; a brother, Kenneth Hamann; a sister-in-law, Maureen Hamann; a sister Kristine Garner; and nephews Doug Hamann and Steve Jorgensen.
