Betty Lou Schol

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Betty and Ronald will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Evergreen Cemetery in George, Iowa.  There will be a time for fellowship and lunch at the Sibley VFW following the service. 

Betty Schol age 87, of Sibley, IA, died Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Osceola Senior Living in Sibley.

Betty Lou Schol was born November 16, 1937, in Little Rock, Iowa the daughter of Eiso and Effie (Thiele) Bos. She grew up in George with her five siblings. She graduated from George High School in 1956.

On May 11, 1957, Betty was united in marriage to Ronald School at Lyon County Presbyterian Church in rural George, Iowa. Together they lived in George and Ashton before moving to Sibley.

In the past, Betty worked at Louis Buttonob as a waitress before working as a secretary at Iowa Electric where she retired. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, trips to the casino, and traveling. A memorable moment in Betty’s life was their surprise 40th anniversary party. She loved visiting with friends and family, and a good cup of tea.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Ronald; sister, Liz Sprock of George, IA, special niece and nephew, Dyana Beek of Madrid, IA and Doyle Bos of Sibley, IA; along with many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eiso and Effie Bos; Albert Bos, Mary Rohweller, Robert Bos, Everett Bos.
