Arlys E Krull

George, Iowa 

     Arlys Krull age 88, of George, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at George Good Samaritan Society in George, Iowa. 

     Visitation with the family present will be Friday, June 14th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

     The family will gather at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and process to the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery for a graveside service.

     Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Hope Reformed Church at George, Iowa with Rev. Steven De Haan, officiating.

     Arlys Elaine (Goldhorn) Krull was born August 21, 1935, the daughter of Eilert and Anna (Jansen) Goldhorn at her parent's home at George, IA.  Arlys grew up on the family farm and attended Liberal #7 country school and graduated from George High School in 1952.  Arlys was united in marriage to Kenneth Krull on September 8, 1954, at the Bethel Reformed Church Parsonage.  In March of 1956, she and Kenneth moved by Little Rock and in 1962, they moved to a farm north of George.  In 1969, they moved to the Family Century Farm until they moved into George in January of 2000.  Arlys was a faithful, loving mother, caring grandmother and generous with her time.  She was a longtime member of Hope Reformed Church.  She served her Lord in many ways and was an active member of the Priscilla Circle.  She also gave generously of her time to many civic groups, serving in the past on the George Bicentennial Museum Board, Lyon County Historical Board, Trees Forever, George Women’s Club and a GLR Kindergarten Volunteer.  In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, which included many Red Hat gatherings.  She also enjoyed crocheting, garage sales, going to many sporting events for her grandchildren and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Twins.  In August of 2023, Arlys became a resident at the George Good Samaritan Society where she died this past Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the age of 88.  

     She is survived by her children, Kalene Diephuis and her husband Jim of Rochester, MN; Rick Krull and his wife, Mary of Fonda, IA; Korey Krull and his wife, Val of Rock Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law, Janice Krull of George, IA; along with 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Mavis Niebrugge of George, IA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Arlys was preceded in death by her parents, Eilert and Anna; husband, Kenneth; son, Rodney; grandson, Benjamin Diephuis; and nephew, Kevin Niebrugge.
