Anthony "Tony" James DeBerg the son of Ardell and Mary Pat (Kruger) DeBerg, Tony was born on August 27, 1981 in Sheldon, IA. When Tony was 6 years old and getting ready for bed, he asked his parents what "being saved" meant. They were able to explain God's plan of salvation and the saving grace offered through His son, Jesus Christ which Tony believed and accepted.
The family moved to Minnesota in 1990 and Tony graduated from Fairmont High School in 2000. Tony had a passion for sports his entire life. He played baseball through his high school years and loved the Minnesota Twins. If he wasn't watching sports you would definitely find him on the golf course or at Top Golf. Tony enjoyed spending time with family and close friends, and those who had the pleasure of knowing Tony were always greeted with his unforgettable, infectious smile and his witty sense of humor.
Tony continued his education at the University of Minnesota and worked at several jobs after school until finding his career-passion at Ottobock (Orthotic and Prosthetic Lab) in 2009. In 2015, Ottobock relocated from Minnesota to Salt Lake City, Utah. Although initially hesitant, Tony decided to join them on the move, and once that decision was made he put his heart and soul into his work and thrived with the company while falling in love with Utah and those he worked with.
In recent months, Tony realized his heart was still in Minnesota and was thrilled to let everyone know that he would be moving back to Minnesota in May of 2023. He bragged about the added bonus of meeting his new niece, who is due to arrive that very same month.
Tony died unexpectedly at his home in West Jordan, Utah on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Tony was 41 years old. Left to cherish his memories are his father, Ardell (Kristi) DeBerg of Naples, FL; mother, Mary Pat DeBerg of Fairmont, MN; brother, Aaron (Amber) DeBerg of St. Michael, MN; step-sister, Alyssa Lund (Zack Harlin) and their children, Kalia and William Harlin of Milaca, MN. And many aunts, uncles and cousins.
