Ronald Hasche, age 84 of Rock Rapids, IA passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday, June 17, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA with Rev. Dan Kordahl officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.
Visitation will be Sunday June 16th from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM with family present from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.
Ronald Lee Hasche was born May 10, 1929 in Luverne, MN the son of Rudolph and Alta (Childress) Hasche. As an infant the family moved to Lake Preston, SD until he was the age of eight years old at which time they moved to the farm established by his grandfather at Doon, IA. He attended country school and then graduated from Doon High School in 1947. On August 24, 1952 he was united in marriage to Betty Langfeldt at the Christ Lutheran Church in Alvord, IA. The couple lived on a farm near Doon from 1952 until 1956. They then moved to their farm near Rock Rapids where they lived and raised their family. They retired in 1993 and moved to Rock Rapids. Ron was a farmer all his life and greatly enjoyed crop farming as well as feeding cattle and attending auctions. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. He served on the REC Board as well as Farmers Elevator Board. He also served on the Lutheran Church Board in Rock Rapids. He enjoyed playing cards from time to time but his main joy was his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren meant the most to him. This past Wednesday, June 12, 2013 Ron passed away at Sanford in Sioux Falls, SD. He will be missed greatly.
Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA; son, Duane (Janet) Hasche of Okoboji, IA; daughters, Marlene (Tom) Haupert of Granville, IA; Audrey Hasche of Sioux Falls, SD; Karla (Jim Zeck) Hasche of Sioux Falls, SD; and son, Bruce Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA; eight grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Cornell of Rock Rapids, IA; brother, Harold (Mona) Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA; sister, Janet (Bob) Barrett of Wilton, IA; sister-in-law, Renee Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA; brother-in-law, Freddie Langfeldt of Alvord, IA; and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Mervin Hasche.
